" " My father George Gerlock, Jr. and my Uncle Alex Keller was in Battery A. Both my father and uncle Alex have passed, but I am sure they would have been proud of this website. My dad was awfully excited when he went to the Army Reunions. After he passed away I got some of his pictures he had and there are some pictures when he was, still, in the army and some of them are when he went to the Army Reunions. This website means alot to those who are related to the men that fought for our country in World War II, because they are just about gone and now their children are the next generation to go on with new generations. To remember our fathers' this way is just about the greatest thing there is. Thank you Loren for doing this website, it is greatly appreciated. "

" This site is a wonderful resource for anyone looking to find more information about loved ones who bravely fought to protect our nations freedoms. My grandfather was one of them. John Edward Loster was an AA Gunner on an M-16 Half-track. He also was awarded a bronze star in recognition of his work in securing a small town near Bastogne and capturing German prisoners. His papers state that he was in "C" Battery, but I was unable to find him on any of the rosters. If anyone has any information at all, it would be greatly appreciated. God Bless. "

" Dad fought and nearly died at Selestat. I'm interested in 533rd's role there. How were they helping the 103d division? Were they part of Task Force Selestat? What were there targets? Selestat was crawling with German Panzers about Dec. 1, 1944, when 36th, 103d divisions, 14th armored and many attached units like 636th tank destroyers and I guess 533rd AAA unit converges on city. Company B of the 103d and Company D lost over 100 prisoners to the Germans in their strike over the river. Panzers counterattacked and the men were lost. Company B survivors carried the fight the next day, but were surrounded. Some were never heard from again. 36th division takes s. part of city against fierce resistance and 1st Batallion 142nd infantry under the youngest batallion commander in ETO defends city against fanatical counterattack Dec. 12, 1944. They win the coveted Presidential Unit Citation for this action. I know the attached units like 636th tank destroyers were right in their pitching in the house-to-house fighting and patrolling the bridges. Please let me know role of 533rd. Tnanks and God Bless for your Service. "

" Hi,
Vincent Niewoehner was my uncle. I located your website after re-discovering some of his military information.
If anyone has any stories about Vincent, I would certainly love to know more about him. His death was a tragic blow to his mother, father and brother and as a result they could never bear to talk about him.
God Bless,
Mary
